The Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators has announced a cash reward for the victorious India U-19 team which beat Australia to win the ICC Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand.
Each member of the World Cup-winning squad will get a cash prize of ₹30 lakh. The coach’s effort has been given due respect for his efforts. The CoA has also announced a cash reward of ₹50 lakh while the support staff will get ₹20 lakhs each.
The chairman of the CoA, Vinod Rai, said: “I congratulate the U-19 team who have made the country proud. Rahul Dravid played his cricket with sincerity and it was pleasing to see the boys uphold the value. They have been fantastic athletes and even better ambassadors. The boys have done so well, and I am sure they will work hard and climb the ladder and represent the senior team in the future.”
“The consistent performance is a testimony to the fact of BCCI’s initiative in nurturing the talent and providing an environment to the youngsters and perform to their potential. I congratulate Rahul Dravid and his team for returning home with the glittering ICC World Cup,” the CoA member Diana Edulji has said.
