The official sponsor of the United States team for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games DICK’s Sporting Goods brand operates around 700 stores to retail sporting goods, athletic apparel, sportswear, sports shoes, fitness equipment and a range of bicycles. The Pennsylvania headquartered brand has over the years acquired many small players in the industry.


The brand founded in 1996 by Kelvin Plank has made big strides to be among the industry leaders in mere two decades of its existence. The number four grosser for the year in its industrial segment is also placed seventh by Forbes for a brand value of $1,000,000,000. Underarmour generates almost 70% of its revenues from the apparel range. Footwear and accessories account for 20% and accessories at 10%, according to a report by mbaskool.com.


 The brand has been in news in India for the biggest sports endorsement deal. The Herzogenaurach, Germany, headquartered PUMA has signed Indian cricket team captain for a ₹110 crore, multi-year deal earlier this year. The brand, according to reports, is tying up with ShopX- Digital offline platform to scale up its business in Tier-II footwear markets.


Sketchers, selling its products across 160 countries, has announced a first billion dollar quarter sales for the first three months of years. The California-based brand trades in footwear under lifestyle and performance categories, besides apparel, bags and eye wear. Founded in 1992, SKETCHERS has become one of the two women’s footwear brands in the US market.


The Japanese sportswear brand is driven by its footwear sales which account for a total 60% of its aggregate sales. ASICS has been the official footwear and apparel partner of the International Association of Athletic Federations for all the World Series events in 2017. ASICS’ product line, which includes footwear, apparels, and sports equipment, is retailed in over 100 countries across the world.
