The Hero Indian Super League (ISL 2020-21) got off to a thrilling starts and has already witnessed some roller coaster action inside the first couple of weeks. From late equalizers, to heated dramas, to red cards- ISL 2020 have kept the ardent football fans at the edge of their seat.
As the tournament progresses into Gameweek 3, let us take a recap of the stats leaders so far in this season.
Top Team (ATK Mohun Bagan)
After two Gameweek 2, defending champions ATK Mohun Bagan are still at the top of the points table. Antonio Habas’ men are the only team in the league to win both their games and currently sits at the pole position with 6 points from just 2 games.
Given the start ATK has got, they are once again looking like a formidable force and have already established themselves as the frontrunner for this season’s trophy.
Top scorer (Nerijus Valskis)
Nerijus Valskis leads Golden boot race with a superb brace against Odisha FC in ISL 2020’s first double header. Despite the Lithuanian’s superb contribution, JFC failed to secure their first win of the season as Diego Mauricio’s late double earned Odisha FC a late point.
ATK Mohun Bagan’s Roy Krishna remains second in the race with 2 goals from two matches. The Fiji international found the net in both of ATK’s matches and will be once again clinical for the defending champions in the ongoing edition.
Jamshedpur FC might have not had the best start to their season, but it could have been worse if not for the heroics of goalie TP Rehnesh. JFC are yet to secure a win after losing their opening encounter against Chennaiyin and then snatching a late point against Odisha FC to save the blushes in their second fixture.
Rehnesh has made 9 saves so far this season, 5 more than second placed Amrinder Singh who has 4 saves to his name.
Bengaluru FC’ Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Kerala Blasters’ Albino Gomes occupies the third and fourth place on the list respectively.
Top passes (Player- Edu Bedia; Team- Kerala Blasters)
While FC Goa’s Edu Bedia has made the most number of passes (148) so far this season, Kerala Blasters dominate the team list with a total of 1287 passes. Mumbai City FC and FC Goa are the second on the list with a total of 1023 and 883 passes respectively.
