Ever since the post went up, the wicket-keeper batsman has received over 1.45 lakh likes to his post and a steady stream of congratulatory messages.
AB de Villiers was in UAE for IPL 2020 until the first week of November as Royal Challengers Bangalore crashed out in the eliminator, and rushed back home to be with his family after the tournament.
He had a successful season for RCB and finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 454 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 158.74. His batting exploits helped his team make it to the play-offs for the first time since 2016.
The South African was initially also slated to take part in the upcoming Big Bash League, but later opted out to be with his family.
