Adidas has announced the weekend Tango League in India to give a new dimension to budding football talent in the country to showcase and test their skills with the best in the business.
Brand Adidas looks to disrupt the market by bringing the globally acclaimed concept –Tango League’ – to India. Creators in India are set to get a whole new platform to plan their weekend football.
The Adidas Tango League will deliver a brand new and exciting concept and experience for football players. Budding footballers will get an opportunity to participate and experience an authentic footballing environment and with time the Tango League in India will grow to give players an opportunity to meet the talent and perform with the best from across the world.
As the global leader in football, Adidas continues to promote and nurture grassroots football in India, and with the launch of Tango League, it plans to add a new dimension for budding footballers to showcase their skills and test their footballing ability with the best.
The Tango League will commence in New Delhi. Under the Tango League experience, Adidas will host a series of tournaments, with each tournament comprising of 32 teams and players between 16 and 25 yrs. The 32 teams shall battle it out in a five-a-side competition. Following the kick-off in Delhi-NCR, the league will further move to Mumbai and Bangalore in the coming season.

According to the brand, the Tango League will scout talent that displays incredible on-ground football skills, ability and prowess that will set each player apart, as well as athletes who are also active on social media platforms. Football ability and social media calibre will be key, as players earn points for the right to top the Tango League leader-board. This ranking system will see players earn points for what they do on the pitch, as well as how active they are on Twitter and Instagram.
