The Indian Tigers will play their last Group A match against the team of Bahrain today (Monday) at Sharjah Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The Blue Army has given a tough fight to hosts United Arab Emirates in their Group A match on January 10 (Thursday) at ZCS Stadium.

The Sunil Chhetri-led Indians were impressive in their 18 attempts the goal during the Group A match against the UAE. India, ranked 97th with 1,240 points, stand a chance to cruise into the next stage even with a draw.

A win at the Sharjah Stadium may also be a perfect gift to skipper Chhetri on equalling Baichung Bhutia’s record of 107 India caps.

Having won their campaign opener with a 4-1 upset win over Thailand before going down fighting to UAE, India must prevail over the stronger Bahrain combine to progress beyond the first round.

A surprise win will guarantee India their first ever berth in the AFC Asian Cup history.
