Rahmat was sublime, and importantly converted his start into a big one. Shah’s knock of 103* came of just 109 balls. Hashmatullah Shahidi, brought into the XI today at the expense of an allrounder, showed the value of having a left-hander in the middle order, with a controlled innings himself. Shahidi scored 82.
Earlier Riding on Paul Stirling’s 128, Ireland scored 259/9 against Afghanistan in the second ODI of the three-match series. For Afghanistan, Naveen-ul-Haq was the standout performer having bagged four wickets, while Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked three wickets.
