Afridi thanks Kohli & Co for ‘farewell gift’

The nations are at loggerheads. There is no friendship between the cricket boards. But there prevails a strong camaraderie and sportsmanship between cricketers from India and Pakistan. Indian cricketers have sent an autographed T-Shirt of Virat Kohli to Shahid Afridi as a farewell gift.

The Pakistan all-rounder, who has announced his retirement from all forms of game, on Friday thanked Virat Kohli and team India for the ‘farewell gift’. Afridi took to twitter to express his gratitude towards the Indian players. Tagging Kohli, Afridi wrote: “Thank you and the entire Indian team for a wonderful farewell gift @imVirat. Respect superstar, hope to see you soon”

It’s been four years since India and Pakistan have played in a bilateral series. Primarily due to cross border Pak-sponsored terrorism and political bitterness between the two neighbors.

However, this has had little effect on the personal relations of the players of the teams, who have been arch and strongest rivals on the field.
