In India for the Indian Premier League 2019, Andre Russell is poised to leave more melodious memories than his brutal attack with the willow for Kolkata Knight Riders. The professional cricketers commercial interest in India goes beyond the ₹8.5 crore contract with Kolkata Knight Riders.
The Jamaican all-rounder will leave the Indian shores after showing the seeds for another career option – a Hindi singer. The 31-year-0ld has recorded his first single in India – a Hindi number.
Russell has shared the information about his first Hindi solo on the personal Instagram account. He has recorded the song with composer Palash Muchchal.

“It is my first time singing in Hindi. It was challenging and fun,” HT City has reported the cricketer-singer, who was uncomfortable with the language, as saying.
Palash admits that it wasn’t easy for Russell to sing a Hindi song, but he is happy with the output.
The composer and Russell have established first contact on Instagram. “I don’t know how but Russell saw videos of me playing cricket, on Instagram, and commented on it. Then I messaged him back and got to know that he was following my music. I knew that he sings (as well) but I didn’t know that he would ask me to collaborate,” says Muchchal.
“I decided to make him sing in Hindi, which was quite difficult for him but he has done a great job,” adds Muchchal.
The yet to be titled song is being termed as a “typical groovy dance number.
Russell, too, is happy with the final output in spite of having trouble with words and pronunciation.
Russell has had an extremely successful season for Kolkata Knight Riders this year, scoring 514 runs from 11 innings including four half centuries and as many other 40+ knocks.
