Amanpreet Singh is the new Indian representation in the high-octane WWE arena. The independent wrestler and bodybuilder from Punjab has signed a developmental contract with the WWE.
The Punjab strongman has reported for training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, WWE has reported on its official website.
“I came to the U.S. with the dream that someday, I am going to make my country proud,” said Amanpreet. “I would consider myself fortunate if I am able to become a positive role model for the youngsters of my country and impact lives. I don’t think I can find a better platform than WWE to empower myself to empower others, especially those back at home.”

The 6-foot-2-inch Amanpreet had endured a difficult childhood by channeling his energies into sports. He’s a self-taught bodybuilder who won local competitions before turning his focus to wrestling in 2011. Training under the likes of Savio Vega and Al Snow, Singh enjoyed success inside the ring in his native India, as well as in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Amanpreet is accorded a warm welcome by an old acquaintance Matt Hardy.
Hardy and Amanpreet had previously crossed paths at another promotion when the Indian wrestled under the alias Mahabali Shera. Shortly after the news about Amanpreet joining the WWE PC had broken, Hardy sent the new recruit a message to personally welcome him:
You are a STERLING SOUL & I am DELIGHTED that you have arrived. https://t.co/KxI9xIYlng
