All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Amity University have joined hands to develop and promote football in the country.
The university and the national governing body for the sport of soccer have inked a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday. The MoU focuses on innovation and execution of research projects and establish a robust education system in areas of coaching and football administration.
AIFF secretary Kushal Das said, “This is a great opportunity created by AIFF and Amity University for those interested in technical and management education in the field of football. The objective of this MoU is to provide exposure to Indian professionals of state-of-the-art knowhow in global football as well as to carry out cutting-edge research domestically to enhance football knowledge in India.”
Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, said that the MoU aims to fulfil AIFF’s goal of creating an efficient football ecosystem and pave way for competitive success at international stage.
Dr. Kalpana Sharma, Director Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences expressed the need for standardised coach education program for the university graduates and physical education professionals through integrating coach education program within the curriculum.
University runs a bachelors’ degree programme – Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports – at its Noida campus. The Greater Noida campus imparts diploma in Sports and Event Management.
