Arsenal Football Club in a first of its kind partnership has signed Universal Pictures to help promote a number of upcoming film releases made under their banner. That includes Illumination’s Despicable Me 3 which is set to release on June 30.
The partnership will allow Universal Pictures to promote films across LED perimeter board exposure at domestic fixtures played at Emirates Stadium.
First-team players will also be made available to create content and promotional assets around their film releases. The studio will also be able to access the Gunner’s extensive digital channels for promotional activities. They will be providing supporters with exclusive content and entertainment via Arsenal’s digital channels and at upcoming Junior Gunner and club events.
“This partnership with Illumination and Universal Pictures is the first of its kind for the club and one we are extremely excited about,” , the club’s chief commercial officer, Vinai Venkatesham said while speaking about the partnership.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for both the club and the studio to be introduced to new audiences and we are already working closely with them to engage with our supporters in the UK and Ireland around their upcoming film releases,” he added.
Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League in 2016/17, marking the first time that the club has failed to qualify for the Uefa Champions League under manager Arsène Wenger.
