The series has gone through a lot of improvements and changes since the Assassin’s Creed first launched in 2007. But this time Ubisoft is planning to make a change bigger than ever.

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed game is under development which will be a detailed online service-based game. According to Bloomberg, the game,  Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be evolving into a fully online open-world game like GTA: Online or Fortnite.

The managing directors of Ubisoft, Christophe Derenne and Nathalie Bouchard stated the new project as “an important upcoming, early in development project codenamed as Assassin’s Creed Infinity”. As per Bloomberg, it will be an online platform that will consist of many historical settings and will evolve over time.

This would mark a huge change in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Ubisoft officials also conveyed the message to Bloomberg that they want to exceed the expectations of fans who are asking for a more cohesive approach.

As per leaks suggest, the game is only in its initial stages and Ubisoft is aiming to put forth Assassin’s Creed Infinity in 2024 or later. So fans are not expecting to see the game anytime soon, but the Assassin’s Creed community is totally hyped by the news.
