Aston Martin is likely to be the title sponsor of the Red Bull Formula 1 team for the 2018 season.
A formal announcement for Red Bull to be named Aston Martin Red Bull Racing is expected in the next few weeks, Autosport has reported quoting sources with good knowledge of the situation.
“You can speculate all you like but I’m not going to confirm anything,” Autosport has quoted team principal Christian Horner as saying. “We’ve got a great relationship with Aston, obviously working on and developing the Valkyrie hypercar for them. They’re doing a great job, the product is great, and they’ve got a lot of great stuff in the pipeline. There will be news to follow in weeks to come.”
Red Bull has an existing relationship with Aston since the 2016 season and the cars have carried the branding. Aston and Red Bull Advanced Technologies have also cooperate for the development of latter’s Valkyrie hypercar.
The expected new title sponsorship will further consolidate the ties between the two brands. The new F-1 management would also look to derive some mileage with the prestigious Aston Martin name getting a higher profile in grand prix racing.
