BAN vs AUS 5th T20: Shakib Al Hasan becomes the first to claim 1000 runs and 100 wickets in T20Is – Kolkata Knight Riders’ star Shakib Al Hasan scripted history on Monday as the Bangladesh all-rounder became only the second bowler in the world to claim more than 100 T20I wickets. The left-arm spinner starred as he spun a web around the visiting Australian side to finish with a spell of 4/9 in his quota of overs. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star also became the first player in T20I history to clinch the 1000 runs and 100 wickets double, etching his name in the record books.

BAN vs AUS 5th T20: Shakib is the first spinner to reach the 100 wickets mark in T20Is, and only the second after Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga to do so. He also became the first male cricketer to score 1000 runs and pick 100 T20I wickets, with Australia’s Elyse Perry and Pakistan’s Nida Dar having done so in women’s cricket. He is naturally the leading wicket-taker in T20I cricket among active players, with New Zealand’s Tim Southee and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan close on his tail.

BAN vs AUS 5th T20: Shakib Al Hasan put in a man of the match performance as Australia were skittled out for their lowest ever T20I total in the fifth and final T20I at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. The 34-year-old came into the clash with 98 wickets and soon got going, dismissing captain Matthew Wade, before cleaning up Ashton Turner to claim a century of T20I wickets.

BAN vs AUS 5th T20: The former Bangladesh captain did not stop there, as he got the better of Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa to help his side clinch a 60-run win. It was a stunning comeback from Shakib, who was hit for five sixes in an over by Dan Christian in the 4th T20I. While he did not get to bowl at the veteran all-rounder, the KKR star certainly had his revenge.
