 BAN vs SL 2nd ODI: Mushfiqur Rahim scores splendid ton to take Bangladesh to decent total- Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim scored an outstanding century to help his side get out of the trouble and post a challenging total on the board. The talisman took 115 balls to reach his century with the help of seven fours. This is Rahim’s 8th ODI century. 

Bangladesh were 49/3 when Rahim walked in to bat. He along with Mahmudullah stitched a much-needed partnership of 87 runs for the sixth wicket.

Rahim had to wait for his century as the rain started to pour in when he was in his 90s. The rain stopped for a while and again started drizzling and the play had to stop. 

Earlier, the Bangladesh captain won the toss and opted to bat first but could not make most of the pitch as pacer Dushmantha Chameera took two wickets in the second over to send back captain Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan, while Mosaddek Hossain, Liton Das and Mahmudullah were dismissed by Lakshan Sandakan.

In the first match of the series, Rahim played a fighting knock of 84 runs in just 87 balls with the help of four boundaries and one maximum. In the end, his innings was the difference between both the sides as hosts won the game by 33 runs. All-rounder Mehidy Hasan also picked a four-wicket haul while Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga scored counter-attacking but in the end, his knock went in vain.
