The high octane action of Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 is the sports show of the week on Indian Television.

All the top five sports shows on the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) Week 41 (October 6-12) are the Pro Kabaddi live action on free to air Stars Sports First and Star Sports 1 Hindi. These ratings when Virat Kohli led team India was engaged in a Test series against West Indies at home are a sad reflection on cricket.

The UP Yoddha vs Patna Pirates match at Chennai on Thursday, October 11 on Star Sports First is the number one sports show for the week with 3,234,000 impressions. This is followed by Haryana Steelers vs Gujarat Fortunegiants match at Sonipat, Haryana on Friday, October 12 on Star Sports First that garnered 3,103,000 impressions.

U Mumba match against Jaipur Pink Panthers on Wednesday, October 10 has gained 3,052,000 impressions followed by another UP Yoddha vs Patna Pirates match at Chennai (2,935,000 impressions) and Tamil Thalaivas vs Telugu Titans on October 9 (2,824,000 impressions).

Kabaddi has also helped Star Sports 1 Hindi stay the number one channel for the week with cricket also contributing to the gross 161,418,000 impressions. Next comes Star Sports First with 133,283,000 impressions followed by Sony Ten 1 (122,533,000), Sony Ten 3 (62,250,000) and Star Sports 2 (58,504,000).

India’s invincibility coupled with West Indies’ lacklustre performance in the ongoing series, d. One-sided matches finishing within in three days are no less damaging to the sports’ commercial health, have resulted in dampening numbers, commercials, empty stands and way for Pro Kabaddi to edge past cricket in week 41.
