Star Sports and cricket reigned supreme in sports genre ratings on Indian television during the Week 51 and Week 52 (December 14 to 27) on the back on the LIVE broadcast of the three-match India-West Indies One Day International series.
There was no significant change in the respective positions of the top five channels over the past three weeks ever since the Caribbeans had arrived in India for the limited-overs back to back T20I and ODI series. Star Sports stayed the market leader in the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) ratings for both the weeks. The monitoring agency in wake of the year-ending holidays had released the 51st week ratings a week later, along with the television audience numbers for week 52.

In the coming week, Star Sports and sports genre will face a real challenge as there is no LIVE cricket involving Team India. However, Star Sports cluster will be in for gains with Sri Lanka poised to start their three-match T20I series against India from Guwahati on January 5.
