BCB expresses interest to host the Champions Trophy 2025: Report

Champions Trophy 2025: Nazmul Hasan, President of Bangladesh Cricket Board stated that BCB has expressed interest to host the Champions Trophy in 2025 with the requisite support.

The decision was taken place during the 10th meeting of the board of directors. Bangladesh is set to participate in the host selection process for the ICC’s Men Event, 2024-31. The entire process will be overseen by BCB Directors, Mohammed Jalal Yunus, and Ahmed Sajjadul Alam.

Champions Trophy 2025: There are lots of issues (in order to solely host the Men’s World Cup). We will need to have 10 full-fledged stadiums. It is the same for whoever is interested to bid for the event. So that is not possible for us because we do not have so many venues. Hosting even the T20 World Cup solely is a challenge for us but we will sit and discuss with some of the neighboring countries to see whether we can become a co-host,” he said.

Champions Trophy 2025: The national contract is finalized but we cannot disclose it right now as some changes will be made,” he added showing that the BCB Cricket Operations Committee has been asked to evaluate the conclusions of the Board.

We decided to introduce the shadow national team as we feel when someone gets dropped from the national team they don’t have any place to go like we can take Imrul Kayes for example so they must have someplace to go,” he said about the latest memoranda supervised by BCB Directors Kazi Inam Ahmed and Khaled Mahmud in the coming days.
