BCCI Media Rights – Indian Cricket LIVE in Bangladesh: T Sports, the only exclusive sports satellite network in Bangladesh has acquired right to LIVE Broadcast Indian cricket home series in the territory. The deal covers India home national team cricket matches between till 2023. The deal term will have 13 Test matches, 14 one-day internationals and 20 T20 matches. India is not scheduled to play Bangladesh at home in the period.
BCCI Media Rights – Indian Cricket LIVE in Bangladesh: Other than this T-Sports also has acquired rights to English Premier League in the territory in a deal with Singapore based video content rights marketplace Allrites. Allrites sublicensed both sets of rights for the territory of Bangladesh from India-based broadcaster Star.
Harry Griffith, head of syndication at Star Sports, said his company was “delighted to announce Allrites as the official broadcast partner for BCCI Cricket and the English Premier League in Bangladesh, with a population of over 160 million ardent sports fans, this partnership highlights the country’s passion and enthusiasm for live sports content.”
Announcing the new deals, T Sports chief executive Ishtiaque Sadeque said: “The Indian national cricket team and English Premier League football have always been key drivers for bringing in large audiences here at T Sports. We are excited to have signed this agreement with Allrites, which enables us to showcase even more world-class sporting spectacles to viewers across Bangladesh and beyond. We look forward to carry this endeavour forward by acquiring more quality sports content in coming days.”
BCCI Media Rights – Indian Cricket LIVE in Bangladesh: T Sports positions itself as Bangladesh’s first dedicated satellite sports channel. The channel was launched in late 2020 by local conglomerate Bashundhara Group. Bashundhara has other media interests, including a satellite television news channel, newspapers and news websites, as well as several investments in sport.
In February this year T Sports also acquired rights to AFC Matches for 4 years from Football Marketing Asia.
