IPL 2021 auction – IPL Franchises can’t meet their captains: The Indian Premier League franchises in Chennai will not able to meet their captains and top Indian players before IPL Auctions. This means Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can’t see Virat Kohli and Mumbai Indians (MI) will not able to meet Rohit Sharma before IPL Auctions. Indian team in Chennai is currently in BIO-BUBBLE and BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal has informed InsideSport.co that franchises have strictly been instructed not to meet the players physically in Chennai.

“No they will not be allowed to meet their respective IPL franchises. They are in a strict bio-bubble,” Arun Dhumal, BCCI Treasurer told InsideSport.co

According to Dhumal, BCCI wants to protect the players completely from any outside contact and that is the reason they have passed this stricture. The IPL team managements though are allowed to stay in contact with their respective team captains and players via digital mediums before and during the IPL Auctions.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO believes in today’s time, getting connected is not a big headache for anyone. “In today’s time, there are so many mediums to stay connected,” he said.

There are three IPL team skippers who are currently part of the ongoing Test series.

While Indian skipper Virat Kohli is also the leader of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rohit Sharma is the captain of four-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians (MI). KL Rahul, who joined the Indian squad after completing his rehabilitation, is the skipper for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).

Furthermore, not only the players engaged in the series, other captains will also miss the IPL auctions. CSK skipper MS Dhoni will be one of the big names who will not be available with the team. Instead, CSK will also stay connected to him digitally.

Indian squad to leave for Ahmedabad post-IPL auction

The Indian squad will be playing the third and fourth Test in Motera Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad. The Virat Kohli-led squad will leave for Ahmedabad on post-IPL auction. “They will tentatively leave by February 20,” Dhumal said.
