BGMI India Series: Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 Format revealed. Bringing cheers to millions of BATTLEGROUNDS enthusiasts in India, KRAFTON, the South Korean video game developer, today announced BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2021. This will be the first esports tournament hosted by KRAFTON following on from the incredible response by fans to the official launch of BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA on 2nd July.
BGMI India Series: KRAFTON has announced a prize pool of INR 1,00,00,000 for this inaugural series, which will span across 3 months. Looking to provide the biggest platform for competitive gaming in the country, BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2021 will be open to residents of India only. With this announcement, KRAFTON promises exciting times ahead for the Indian gamers, as this marks the beginning of a series of new content, collaborations, and esports tournaments KRAFTON will be introducing in the country.

The registrations for the tournament kick-starts on 19th July later this month and will have 5 stages spanning across three months.
Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021: IN-GAME QUALIFIERS: 2 Aug – 8 Aug: 1024 Teams Qualify to next stage
Players who have registered for BGIS will have to play 15 matches with their registered team members over the given time period. The top 10 of 15 matches will be considered for evaluation and scored accordingly. In the case of a tie, certain parameters such as finishes, survival time, accuracy, etc will be considered. The top 1024 teams will qualify for the next round. Registered squads can start playing 15 games from 2nd August, 00: 00:01 hours, and have to complete their game before 23:59:59 on 8th August.
Note: Only the first 15 matches played with registered team members shall be deemed valid.
ONLINE QUALIFIERS: 17 Aug – 12 Sept: 64 Teams qualify to next stage
- Round 1
The top 1024 squads qualifying from Online Qualifiers will be seeded into 64 groups. Each group will have to play 2 matches each on the specified dates. The top 8 teams from each group will further qualify for Round 2 of online qualifiers.
- Round 2
The top 512 teams from Online Qualifiers Round 1 will be seeded into 32 groups. Each group will have to play 2 matches each on the specified dates. The top 7 teams from each group will proceed to online qualifiers Round 3.
- Round 3
Top 224 teams from Online Qualifiers Round 3 along with 32 invited teams will be seeded into 16 groups. Each group will have to play 2 matches each on the specified dates following which the top 4 teams will qualify for Quarter Finals.
Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021: QUARTER FINALS: 16 Sept – 26 Sept: 24 Teams qualify
- The top 64 teams qualifying from Online Qualifiers Round 3 will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will have to play 6 matches each on the specified dates. The top 4 teams from each group will further qualify to the Semi-Finals and the remaining teams will play in the loser bracket.
- Loser BracketThe losing 48 teams will be seeded into 3 groups. Each group will have to play 6 matches each on the specified dates. The top 2 teams from each group based on the overall standings along with 2 teams with the maximum number of finishes amongst the 48 teams will qualify for the Semi-Finals. A total of 8 teams will qualify for Semi-Finals from the Loser Bracket.Note: All Teams would receive 1 Finish Card* & 1 Placement Card** for the loser bracket.
*Finish Card = Gives a Team 2X points for their total Finishes in a match.
**Placement Card = Gives a Team 1.5X points for their placement in a match.
SEMI FINALS: 30 Sept – 3 Oct: 16 Teams qualify to next stage
16 teams qualified from the Quarter Finals along with 8 teams qualified from Loser Bracket will be divided into 3 groups who will compete against each other in a round-robin format. A set of 6 Round Robins will be played by each group. The top 16 squads with the highest cumulative points will move towards the Grand Finals.
Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021: GRAND FINALS: 7 Oct – 10 Oct
The top 16 teams qualifying from Semi-Finals will play 20 matches over a time period of 4 days. The squad with the highest cumulative score at the end of 20 matches shall be declared as the winner of BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2021.
