As the Big Bash League comes closer to witness the final few league matches, the first of the doubleheader on Super Sunday sees a face-off between Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers while the second of the doubleheader will see Brisbane Heat hosts the defending champion Melbourne Renegades at the Gabba.
The seventh-placed Hobart Hurricanes who had a washout in their previous game will be itching for a game and a victory thereof. With just four games left for the Hurricanes, all the games from now on will be a must-win for them. The return of their seasoned captain Matthew Wade hasn’t brought much fortune for them and are lagging at the bottom.
Hurricanes will be facing off against the confident Adelaide Strikers who crushed Brisbane Heat in the last encounter by 10 wickets. Despite a mixed run in this year league, Strikers sit comfortably at third spot with 11 points (5 wins). A win will see them cruise past to second spot in the points table.
The second match will see defending champions Melbourne Renegades visiting the Gabba. Renegades are having a worse season starting with 9 consecutive losses before winning their last game in a rain truncated match. They are out of the contention for the playoffs and will only look to play positively and might even upset a couple of teams.
Brisbane Heat will be hosting the table laggards in what is a must-win game for them. There is a fight for three spots between five teams is going on as they are all close to each other in the points table. Heat who are at sixth spot with 10 points (5 wins) will climb to third or fourth if they win and depending on the result of Adelaide Strikers.
The first match of super Sunday will take place at Aurora Stadium, Launceston at 9:15 AM IST and the second match will take place at the Gabba 1:40 PM IST.
