Aizawl FC seems to be reaping the fruit of its recent success with its I-league title win, time and again. The merger of ISL and I-league has been put on hold. The AFC cup is next on their list. And all this can also be accredited to their coach Khalid Jamil. Now, he also can reap the fruits of his dedication and hardwork. Like other sport biopics, Bollywood now wants a biopic on Khalid Jamil, who has been a key person in current scenario of football in India.
As per a report by Air India Radio News, the movie has been proposed and talks are underway and the cloud of speculation will be shattered soon. The movie is supposedly to be titled “Zero to Hero.”
Ajay Devgn will likely be the star to don Aizawl FC’s coach Khalid Jamil. The owner of Aizawl FC, Mr Rober Royte made the disclosure on the occasion of Worlds Aids Orhans Day organized by a local NGO in Aizawl.
Bollywood has shown a significant interest in movies based on real life sports events/figures. In recent years, there have been a number of movies relating to sports.
To name few, ‘Chak de India!’ was loosely based on the Indian women’s hockey team’s 2002 Commonwealth Games campaign and was a huge hit, biopics like ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Mary Kom’,’M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and ‘Dangal’ have also enjoyed tremendous success in recent years.
It will be great to see yet another biopic on a sporting personality like Khalid Jamil. And how people will receive it, considering the nation acknowledging the importance of football in India.
