Call of Duty already have a mobile version of the game, but the game is popular for its multiplayer maps, with a range of popular game modes. The games multiplayer is also played at a competitive level, on the other hand the game also has a not so popular battle royale mode. Call of Duty WarZone on PC has seen immense success, both between casual and competitive players. COD WarZone is a free to play game which comes along with COD Modern Warfare.
Due to the fact that COD Mobile’s battle royale mode is not as successful as they would want it to be Activision maybe launching WarZone on Mobile. According to a job listing on Activision’s website, the company is looking for a Features Executive Produce for an upcoming title called WZM, which is presumably Warzone Mobile. Adding a mobile version into the mix will further cement Warzone as one of the premier Battle Royale titles on the market, rivalled by the likes of Fortnite and PUBG.
The job description reads, “As Executive Producer, Features you will own product framing and player experiences of a new AAA mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise. Developing in collaboration with multiple Activision studio locations around the world, this leader is a skilled communicator and development leader who can define and harvest important elements.” The new hiring will be a part of the Mobile department and will be reporting to Activision’s VP, Mobile, which is currently Chris Plummer.
Judging by the popularity of Call of Duty: Warzone, it won’t be too much of a surprise to see the publisher release a version for mobile devices.
Activision has yet to publicly acknowledge a mobile version of Warzone, and there’s no telling when it may be released. But a job listing is usually a pretty good indication something is in the works.
