Neymar has been finally transferred from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record fee.

The Ligue 1 side has been expecting the deal for quite a long time. The deal however has been closed by the legal representative of the player, as per the statement release on Catalan club’s website: “On Thursday afternoon Neymar Jr’s legal representatives visited in person the Club’s offices and made the payment of 222 million euros in the player’s name with regards to the unilateral termination of the contract that united both parties.
As such, the Club will pass on to UEFA the details of the above operation so that they can determine the disciplinary responsibilities that may arise from this case.”
The transfer brings an end to four years at the Camp Nou for Neymar. During his time as a Barcelona player, he won the UEFA Champions League, two La Liga titles and the Copa del Rey on three occasions.
The transfer is considered by many, a world record for the years to come with the question over such fanatic spending made by the PSG. The transfer fee paid for the Brazilian is more than double of the previous record held by Paul Pogba, who was acquired by the English Club Manchester United for a whopping €105 million.

The fee paid to sign the Brazilian is an extraordinary one. Although given the players potential longevity, his marketability and talent, PSG will feel that they are getting value for money. And the club’s supporters will be delighted the club has secured him.
