Chembur monsoon run attracts 5,000 active runners

Monsoon 10k run returns to Chembur, Mumbai, for the third successive edition. The Tridhaatu Moonsoon 10k Run 2017, slated for August 6th , is expected to have over 5,000 active runners in action. The annual event, organized by Sports United, willf also feature for the first time a 5,000 metre category – Spirit of Chembur fun run.

The 10KRun, affiliated with the Mumbai Suburban Athletic Association (MSAA), also provides the participants with an opportunity to qualify for all the major races in India.

The race to start from Chembur Gymkhana, will run through Dr Sandhu Marg, MDS Marg, St Anthony’s Road, Jandardan Patil Marg, Shivaji Chowk, Deonar Village Road, Chembur-Govandi Road before culminating at the Chembur Gymkhana.

The theme for the event is Go Green, aimed at creating awareness about preserving environment. With a message and pledge to keep ‘aamchi Mumbai’ clean and green each registered participant will be presented with a plant. Two of city’s leading environment NGO’s Greensole and Greenciti are supporting the event. They come on board with the message to promote waste recycling and reduce carob foot print.

Sports United since its inception in December 2013 has created and successfully implemented a multitude of innovative 360° sporting events across different disciplines. The next major event on Sporty United cards will be Mumbai Half Marathon later this year.

Monsoon is fun time too for Mumbaikars. The organisers have smartly incorporated that aspect of the city in mind. Beyond the competitive aspect, Tridhaatu Monsoon 10KRun is the only race in Mumbai which offers its runners a choice of beverages to celebrate the sense of achievement and pride on completion on the 10km race.
