Clippers vs Lakers Quarter 4

Clippers continue to maintain a 20-points lead with 2 minutes to left. They lead 110-90

Clippers vs Lakers Quarter 3

LAL trail 92-71 after 3 Q’s. They outscored LAC 29-27 in the 3rd Q, with Kyle Kuzma going for 10 of his 25 points in the period.

Anthony Davis is out for the game with back spasms.

He joins LeBron, Schroder and THT on the shelf for the evening.

Wesley Matthews is starting the 2nd half for Anthony Davis.

This was always going to be an uphill battle with the Lakers down all their playmakers … and then Davis left the game with LAL down 24-14, at the 2:50 mark of the 1st Q. We await an update on his status.

Clippers, shooting 63%, have capitalized and lead 65-42 at halftime.

Clippers vs Lakers Quarter 2

Clippers lead by 22 points with 1.35 left in Q2

Nothing on Anthony Davis yet – he’s being evaluated in the locker room at the moment.

Markieff Morris broke an 8-game streak without a 3-pointer to start the 2nd Q here, off a Montrezl Harrell offensive board.

Meanwhile, Kyle Kuzma is playing backup PG, basically, with LAL this shorthanded.

Clippers vs Lakers Quarter 1

Three of LAL’s 6 FG’s have been in transition, making them 3 for 14 in the half court.

Clippers are sitting back in on everybody but Davis, knowing the Lakers don’t have the healthy personnel to break down the initial defense.

LAC leads 24-14 at the 2:50 mark.

A hammer from KCP capped a quick 5-0 run, on top of Kuzma’s transition 3, as LAL trail 10-9.

Lakers are predictably struggling in the half court without LeBron/Schroder to make plays, but 5 LAC turnovers are helping them get out and run.

LAL has forced 3 turnovers on the Clippers already, with both George and Leonard getting called for offensive fouls, including a charge drawn by Caruso.

AD has LAL’s first 2 hoops on the other end.

Clippers vs Lakers Starting 5 and Pre-Game Updates

Frank Vogel said that LeBron James won’t play tomorrow evening in Portland. (He said yesterday that LeBron was out tonight vs. LAC)

Talen Horton-Tucker is out tonight and tomorrow night at Portland as well with a Grade 1 calf strain.

Caruso, one of the few playmakers left for LAL, said he thinks his “main responsibility is getting us organized.” He also said sometimes he tends to look to pass on drives but needs to also look to score to actually draw the defense to him.

Andre Drummond said that Marc Gasol has “probably been the biggest help” amongst teammates since Drummond got to the Lakers, despite Gasol’s playing time being impacted. Gasol’s knowledge has been “very beneficial” for Drummond.

The Lakers are obviously quite shorthanded in their playmaking spots without both LeBron and Schroder for Thursday’s game vs. the Clippers, and Frank Vogel said backup playmaker Talen Horton-Tucker is also a question mark due to a right calf strain. THT didn’t practice today.

Frank Vogel said LeBron’s not being at 100% at this point of the season, with the playoffs fast approaching, is “not an ideal situation,” but that they’re “going to make the best of it.”

The Clippers will be aiming for the series sweep after winning the first two meetings earlier in the season and don’t think that doesn’t matter to them even though it’s just the regular season.

LeBron James is expected to miss the team’s next two games, Dennis Schroder is out due to health and safety protocols while Talen-Horton Tucker is questionable due to a right calf strain.
