Earlier On Thursday, it was revealed that Colombia had been stripped of their right to co-host the tournament and now with Covid-19 related sanctions in Argentina, their is big question mark over Copa America beginning on June 13th.

What have the Argentinian FA said?
A statement said: “The Argentine Football Association informs the public that in order to follow the health measures announced by President Alberto Fernandez yesterday, aimed at combating the second wave of the Covid 19 pandemic that we are experiencing, it has decided to suspend programming of matches in all the local competitions that it organizes from 8:00 p.m. today until Sunday, May 30, 2021 inclusive.
“This Association has been working together with the national, provincial and municipal authorities since March 20, 2020 in the development of health protocols aimed at the care of the football family and society in general, respecting each and every one of the decisions taken. by our leaders and by epidemiological experts.
“That is why, at this time where our beloved country must make an extra effort to control this anguishing pandemic that afflicts us, the AFA and all of us who make up football will once again accompany the national authorities by suspending the programming of matches corresponding to all local competitions for a period of 9 days.
Copa America in big doubt after Argentina suspends all football activities due to Covid-19
Copa America starts on June 13th: In Argentina, President Alberto Fernandez had earlier announced that his country would be ready to fully host the games if Colombia backs out. But Argentina is dealing with the worst phase yet of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Thursday, the President announced that Argentina will go into total lockdown for nine days to control the spread of the virus.
Earlier, Australia and Qatar, pulled out of the tournament in February due to a clash with World Cup qualifying dates.
The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from 12 June to 12 July 2020 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
