Covid-19 in Indian Team: 5 Indian team members who have tested Covid-19 positive during India tour of England – Assistant physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar with Team India has tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the fifth Test against England scheduled to start on Friday. Physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar
Just ahead of the fifth and final Test of the England series at Manchester, Team India’s Physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar was tested positive for Covid-19. Patel has been isolated in London since he was traced as a close contact of the three coaches.
India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was tested positive for Covid-19 on July 8. Pant posted pictures of himself at a Euro 2020 match on his social media accounts and was trolled for not wearing a mask and attending a huge gathering like the Euro cup. Rishabh was tested positive after the World Test Championship final and India’s tour of England. He missed out on the practice match ahead of the tour where KL Rahul kept wickets for India. He joined the team at Durham and was fit to play in 1st Test.
Head coach Ravi Shastri
Former India cricketer and the head coach of Indian cricket team Ravi Shastri was the second biggest name to have tested positive during the India tour of England. Just before the Oval test, Shastri, Kohli and few other members of the Indian party were part of a book launch with an event comprising a packed audience. The duo had shared the stage during the programme without the approval of BCCI, the report added. This is probably the reason behind Shastri getting infected. According to a report by the Times of India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is quite unhappy with Shastri. Shastri is still in quarantine and has been ruled out of the Manchester Test.
Bowling Coach Bharat Arun
Along with Rishabh Pant, Team India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun was also tested positive for Covid-19 during the start of the tour. He was kept in isolation and he rejoined the team ahead of the First Test. Again when Ravi Shastri was tested positive Bharat Arun is being kept in isolation in London.
Fielding Coach R Sridhar
Before the start of India’s tour of England, when the team was enjoying the break after the WTC final and first Test against England. R Sridhar was Tested positive for Covid-19. After testing negative he rejoined the team. Along with Ravi Shastri, he has been kept in isolation and has been ruled out of the final Test.
