At least one of the two teams in fray in the Caribbean Premier League tonight (early morning tomorrow India time) is set to score their first point of the season. Jamaica Tallawhas and St Lucia Zouks are pitted against each other for their third match of the CPL 2019.
None of the teams, in spite of some big names in their ranks, have tasted success so far in their previous two outings. St. Lucia Zouks are though a place ahead of the Jamaica combine by a proverbial whisker on better net run rate – a mere .088 NRR separating the two sides on the points table. The winner tonight may climb up to the fourth position, displacing Barbados Tridents, who have scored their first win of the season on Wednesday night (early morning Thursday India time).
Jamaica Tallawhas will take on St Lucia Zouks at the Sabina Park, Jamaica, at today at 6 pm local time. It will be 4:30 am on Friday morning for the fans in India.
The two big names in the Jamaica dugout – Chris Gayle and Andre Russell – can change the game in their team’s favour at their own. However, if the duo failed, it might become difficult for the side.
St Lucia appear a more balanced side with the likes of Darren Sammy, Colin de Grandhomme, Fawad Ahmed, Lasith Malina and Najibullah Zadran. The team, however, will have to strike a right balance with its overseas players as the domestic talent is a relatively weaker link.
