St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots with a win over Jamaica Tallawahs early morning India time today have ended their two-match winless streak in the CPL 2019 and consolidated themselves in the third positon on the points table. Barbados Tridents, who will be playing their second game, have a defeat in their kitty and await their first point for the season.
St Kitts before the tie against the Jamaica outfit held the third position on the league’s point table on the strength of their net run rate of -.659 despite having lost their both the games earlier. They have also improved their net run rate to -0.272.
Tridents after one defeat are at the rock bottom of the six team league with -2.350 net run rate. A win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots can lift them to the fourth position on the points table.
The top two teams in the league, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders have each won their three games till date.
The Carlos Braithwaite-led St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will be gunning for an outright to further consolidate their No. 3 position, which though will not be challenged at least for now even by an adverse result.
The team is deprived of big names except for skipper Braithwaite and Pakistani veteran Mohammad Hafeez.
The Barbados Tridents stand to make major gains as the win can just catapult them from the rock bottom to the fourth position, and build pressure on their rivals for the day who have played two games more.
