The Caribbean Premier League 2019 on Saturday morning (India time) will have the battle of equals as St Lucia Zouks host Jamaica Tallawahs.
The game for fans will academic interest has one certainty. The winners are assured of moving up on the CPL 2019 points table even as Jamaica Tallawahs have virtually missed the bus for the top four knock out stage. Darren Sammy-led Zouks still have a thin hope of finding a permanent place in the top four.
Both St Lucia and Jamaica Tallawahs have played nine games apiece and lost two. The former is slightly better placed by virtue of one point from one of their unfinished matches. That puts them a place above the last-ranked Tallawahs.
However, Jamaica Tallawahs will be high on confidence after defeating Barbados Tridents for their only second win of the season. Zouks on the other hand were forced to split the points with might Trinbago Knight Riders after their last match was washed out.
Besides skipper Sammy, St Lucia will be looking forward to Colin de Grandhome, Fawad Ahmed, Andre Fletcher, Lasith Maliga, and Najibullah Zadran.
Tallawahs will be relying on the power of Universal Boss Chris Gayle and skipper Andre Russell.
