CPL 2021: Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders preview, live stream details, squads, time, all you need to know – The Caribbean Premier League (CPL T20) kicks off on August 26 with defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) taking on Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in the season opener. The game will be played at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts and will serve as the beginning of some blockbuster T20 action, soon to be followed by the IPL 2021 Phase 2 and the T20 World Cup.
Trinbago Knight Riders have the strongest squad on paper and they lived up to the billing last season, winning each of their 12 games to clinch the CPL 2020 title. TKR have seen Dwayne Bravo depart, but have Colin Munro available, along with captain Kieron Pollard, Tim Seifert and Denesh Ramdin to bolster the batting. Sunil Narine, Akeal Hossain and Jayden Seales will lead the bowling attack, which sees the addition of Yasir Shah, who replaces Sandeep Lamichhane. The defending champions remain favourites even if they don’t have the home advantage like last season.

Guyana Amazon Warriors have made it to five finals but are yet to taste success in the league. The CPL 2021 offers them yet another chance to put the drought to an end, and their squad boasts of some battle-hardened T20 superstars in Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Imran Tahir. Naveen ul-Haq has caught the eye across the globe and will be one to watch out for. The run-scoring onus however will be on Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer, along with Brandon King.
