CPL 2021- SLK vs TKR: Pollard & Co take on Faf Du Plessis’ Kings –Defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders will take on the St Lucia Kings in match 9 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL T20). The game will be played at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts and will kick off at 7:30 PM IST on Tuesday, August 31. The Saint Lucia Kings had a dreadful start to their season, going down to the Jamaica Tallawahs in their opener. The newly rechristened St Lucia franchise conceded 255 in their 20 overs, the second-highest total in CPL history, with Andre Russell scoring the fastest 50 of the tournament. While chasing The Kings never got going as they were bowled out for 135, with their 120-run loss being the biggest in CPL history.
Meanwhile, the Trinbago Knight Riders returned to winning ways following their loss to the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Isuru Udana picked up five wickets as Barbados Royals were bowled out for 122, before Kieron Pollard led from the front, scoring an unbeaten 58 to seal the win. The Knight Riders will look to build on their performance while St Lucia aim to heal some wounds from their mauling last time out.
