International Cricket Council – Himalaya Sponsorship Deal: The global body of cricket ICC is on the verge of clinching another big sponsorship deal from the Indian market. According to the information coming in from the sources, ICC will soon be announcing a sponsorship deal with Himalaya Drug Company, the makers of cosmetic products. Earlier last month ICC had announced multi-year partnership with digital learning company Byju’s.
The source further informed InsideSport.co that the 3 year deal between the parties was agreed last year but could not be executed due to the cancellation of the T20 World cup becuase of Covid-19. As part of the deal, Himalaya Products will get visibility during the ICC events i.e ICC T20 World Cup in India and other events during the deal period.
Himalaya’s Growing Presence in the Sports Properties: The brand Himalaya has been consistently investing in Indian sports through sponsorship deals. It was amongst the sponsor of the Indian Super League 2020/21 and also worked with ISL clubs such as Chennaiyin FC in the past. Royal Challengers Bangalore was also sponsored by Himalaya in the previous IPL campaigns, while the likes of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have endorsed Himalaya cosmetics products.
ICC currently has multiple sponsors on board with brands like NISSAN, OPPO, MRF Tyres, Boooking.com, Byju’s, Emirates, MoneyGram, BIRA, Coca-Cola, Royal Stag, Dream11, UBP on board as sponsor and partners.
For Indian brands the remaining cycle of ICC events is very enticing as two of the 3 world cups are scheduled to be hosted by India i.e ICC T20 World Cup in Oct 2021 and 2023 ODI World Cup. In between Australia will host the T20 World Cup in 2022. This is beside the ICC Women and other age-group events which also brings in visibility for the partner-brands.
