CSK vs MI IPL 2021 – Faf Du Plessis Injured: On Tuesday, the same injury woes had forced him out of the playing XI against Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the semifinals. He had earlier missed out on playing XI against Barbados in the last group stage match. Plessis’s injury has come as a huge setback for MS Dhoni’s CSK ahead of their opening match of IPL 2021 Phase 2 against Mumbai Indians on September 19 (Sunday).
Why Du Plessis presence is important for Dhoni’s CSK? The right-handed opener has been a crucial brick in CSK’s wall, especially as an opener. He scored 320 runs in seven matches with a best of 95* at an average of 64.00 and a strike rate of 145.45.
He also smashed four fifties in those matches. His recently picked up injury has put him in shaky boots for the CSK opening spot.
