DC vs CSK Dream11 IPL 2020: Shreyas Iyer is fit to play tonight
DC vs CSK in IPL 2020 : Is Shreyas Iyer fit to play ?
Iyer had injured his shoulder while fielding against the Rajasthan Royals in the last match. Post that he left the field and did not return during the entire innings. In the Post match press conference Shikhar Dhawan had admitted, ‘Iyer is in pain but it is not looking too bad’.
So has Iyer recovered and will he take the field against MS Dhoni’s CSK ? There is no official word from DC management’s on Iyer’s recovery.
InsideSport reached out to Delhi Capitals officials but did not get any firm reply on the extent of injury to Iyer.
‘He is being assessed, it’s not looking too bad at this stage but we can’t declare anything’, said the official
On Friday in their official release as well Delhi Capitals stayed away from giving any update on the fitness of their captain.
The reluctance of Delhi team to share the update on Iyer’s fitness clearly shows that all is not well with the captain. Don’t be surprised if instead of Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan is seen leading DC tonite against CSK.
Meanwhile DC may also go into the game with yet to fully recover Rishabh Pant.
Coach Ricky Ponting is unperturbed and is confident that the good show of DC will continue. “I told the boys I just want to keep them switched on for another week – we have got to keep pushing hard for these next couple of games. We’ve got CSK and then KXIP. I don’t want us to get complacent and take things for granted at this stage of the tournament because things are going well”, said Ponting.
DC vs CSK Dream11 IPL 2020 : Crunch game for MS Dhoni’ CSK, will they click ?
Delhi have double the points (12) that Chennai has in as many games (6) and are eyeing a spot in the play-offs, which Chennai is in danger of missing out if they slip any further. In the last game Dhoni applied new tricks to outfox Sunrisers Hyderabad, he may do the same against Delhi Capitals.
With the pitches in Sharjah slowing down, CSK may go in with extra spinner for the game. The small boundaries will still favour the batsmen, but there’s more than a semblance of an even contest. But yet again, this could mean that the team that bats first will be at a significant advantage in the absence of dew. The toss could play a crucial factor.

DC vs CSK Dream11 IPL 2020 : Likely Playing XI for both the teams
Delhi have managed to ride past the injuries so far. But do they have enough of a back-up if they miss out on both Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant? If Iyer doesn’t play it will be Shikhar who will lead the team in his absence. Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (Doubtful), Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, R Ashwin, Anrich Nortje, Tushar Deshpande
Why would you want to change a winning combination, especially after the group put in a win that pleased the captain a lot? Match-ups and the ground dimensions at Sharjah could be a factor, if CSK do go on to change. With Delhi potentially having four left-handers in the line-up, the extra leg spinner could make way for a batsman.
Probable XI: Faf du Plessis, Sam Curran, Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo / Imran Tahir, Kedar Jadhav/Piyush Chawla, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Karn Sharma DC vs CSK Head-to-Head in IPL:
