Shikhar Dhawan can level Suresh Raina’s record of most fifty by any Indian

Delhi Capitals star batsman Shikhar Dhawan will be on the verge of equaling Suresh Raina’s huge Indian Premier League milestone on Sunday. DC will play their opening game of the 13th edition of IPL against Kings XI Punjab in Dubai, and Dhawan will be eager to give his side a good start.

The left-handed batsman has scored 37 half-centuries in 159 IPL matches so far. If he manages to get one more fifty on Sunday, he will equal Raina’s record of 38 IPL fifties – which is the highest by any Indian player.

Rishab Pant can overtake KL Rahul for fastest fifty record

While KXIP skipper KL Rahul has the record for scoring the fastest fifty in the IPL, when he achieved in the jus 14 balls in the 2018 edition.

Rishab Pant, on the other hand, currently holds the record of hitting a half-centyry in 18 balls. The left-hander, who is a strong contender to KL Rahul to fill in the boots in the national team after MS Dhoni’s retirement has a chance to make a strong statement tonight if he manages to achieve the feat.

Chris Gayle just 16 away from joining elite list

Kings XI Punjab’s heavy-hitter Chris Gayle will be on the verge of joining Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner in an elite Indian Premier League list when he steps out to face Delhi Capitals on Sunday.

The veteran West Indies cricketer has played 125 IPL matches so far in which he has scored 4,484 runs. He needs 16 runs to surpass the 4500-run mark in IPL. If he manages to reach the mark, he will become only the second foreign player after David Warner to do so.
