Star Liverpool footballer Mohamed Salah has signed an endorsement deal with DHL Express, a division of German logistics company Deutsche Post DHL, ahead of his UEFA Champions League Finals campaign against Real Madrid tomorrow.
The 25-year-old Egyptian footballer star, who recently won the Premier League Player of the Year award for 2018, will now serve as a brand ambassador for the global logistics company in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region under a two-year deal.
Salah will work with DHL on a series of marketing activities and corporate social responsibility initiatives. The partnership represents the first endorsement deal that DHL’s MENA division has signed with an individual soccer player.
“I am very proud to be the first player to partner with DHL, and I am happy to collaborate with an international brand,” Salah has said on his DHL association.
Nour Suliman, DHL’s chief executive in the MENA region, added, “Our partnership with Mo Salah is unique as it is the first contract with an individual player, but also it is a testament to the synergy of core values DHL Express and Mo Salah share — leadership, commitment, teamwork, precision, agility, determination.”
Salah won the Premier League’s Golden Boot with 32 goals for Liverpool that finished fourth in the table of the 2017-18 season. He will now lead the brigade for the Reds Army in tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League Final against Real Madrid before his FIFA World Cup Russia campaign with the Egypt national team.
The Right Winger is credited with leading his national side to its first FIFA World Cup finals since 1990. This will be Egypt’s third campaign for football’s most coveted title, the first one being in 1934.
