Dream 11 IPL 2020: Top 5 dream bowling spells in IPL 13: With Indian Premier League 2020 recording the highest average of sixes across all editions, the bowlers have faced rather an uphill task to tame the batsmen. Despite that, Dream 11 IPL 2020 has witnessed some incredible bowling spells that have left the opposition batsmen stunned.
Here we take a look at the five best bowling spells in IPL 2020 so far:
Varun Chakravarthy (4-0-20-5) vs DC
Varun Chakravarthy, the Kolkata Knight Riders leg-break bowler, made headlines while playing against Delhi Capitals as he bagged the first five-wicket haul in IPL 2020.
Varun first dismissed Rishabh Pant and then removed Shimron Hetmyer to stand on the cusp of taking a hat-trick. Although he didn’t pick a hat-trick, the spinner went on to dismiss Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Marcus Stoinis.
It was only the second time an uncapped bowler had taken a five-wicket haul in the IPL.
Riding on his exceptional performance, KKR register a massive 59-run win against DC in Abu Dhabi.
Interestingly, Tamil Nadu mystery spinner Varun, whose base price was Rs 30 lakh, earned the highest bid among uncapped Indian players at the IPL 2020 auction. KKR bought him for Rs 4 crore.
Trent Boult (4-1-18-4) vs CSK
Mumbai Indians pacer Trent Boult was at his best when he wreaked havoc and dismantled the Chennai Super Kings with a match-winning spell in match 41 of on-going IPL 2020. In the process, he also registered his best-ever figures in the IPL history.
Boult drew first blood in the first over itself by trapping opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. He struck again in his second over by plucking the prized wicket of Faf du Plessis and leaving CSK reeling on 3/4.
The Kiwi’s wicket-taking spree continued in his third over as he showed the exit door to Ravindra Jadeja.
Because of Boult, CSK managed to post mere 114/9 after 20 overs and they were eventually thrashed by 10 wickets.
Jasprit Bumrah (4-0-20-4) vs RR
Mumbai Indians (MI) frontline bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, returned to his blazing form in the 20th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
The pacer completely dominated the RR batting unit by picking up four wickets in his quota of overs and conceding only 20 runs. His fiery spell guided MI to a 57-run win at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Bumrah got rid of Steve Smith, the Royals’ captain, to open his account in the wickets’ column. Then he castled Rahul Tewatia, who could have done a lot of damage in the death overs.
Kagiso Rabada (4-0-24-4) vs RCB
Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Kagiso Rabada, who is known for his pace, wreaked havoc against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the match no. 19 of IPL 2020. Rabada clinched four wickets against RCB in four overs, conceding 24 runs with an economy of six to help DC win the game by 59 runs.
Rabada bowled his heart out against RCB – where he dismissed Virat Kohli (43), Washington Sundar (17), Shivam Dube (11) and Isuru Udana (1).
In the process, the South African pacer also equalled the record of fast bowler Vinay Kumar in IPL of clinching at least a wicket in 19 matches in a row.
Chris Morris (4-0-26-4) vs RR:
Ever since getting fit, Morris has been RCB’s main bowler. The South African all-rounder was once again in his elements against RR as he accounted for all key wickets in the form of Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Steve Smith and big-hitter Jofra Archer. Moreover, he gave away just 26 runs in his four overs and his strike rate read 6.00.
