If there is one thing, Sunrisers Hyderabad missed the most in their season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore, it was Kane Williamson.
The 30-year-old missed the first match of the Indian Premier League due to an injury. SRH captain David Warner later revealed that the New Zealand skipper suffered a quadriceps injury while training.
Now as Sunrisers Hyderabad gear up to take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their second match at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, question on Williamson’s availability still remains unanswered.
KKR vs SRH Dream11 IPL 2020 Prediction: Will Kane Williamson return against Kolkata Knight Riders?
Williamson is the backbone of SRH batting department. He usually acts as a floater in the top order, coming in to bat according to the situation. But with him benched, skipper David Warner was forced to play two young Indian batsmen in Abhishek Sharma and Priyam Garg. It had left the middle order thin.
The team management has not yet provided any update on his injury, but reportedly, it is nothing serious. Williamson had even attended the training session on Friday, where he was seen diving and also batted a little in the nets.
SRH would be looking forward for the former captain to get a clearance from the medical team, so that they can get back to the winning ways. The KKR vs SRH match will kick off at 7:30 pm IST.
