Dead Space is a science-fiction, horror game developed by Visceral Games and was first released in 2008 by Electronic Arts (EA). Since then, this fan-favorite series got six sequels of Dead Space with the latest being the Dead Space 3, which was released in 2013. In the EA Play Livestream, which was live on EA’s YouTube and Twitch channel, EA announced the release of the Dead Space remake and will be coming to the next-gen consoles PS5, Xbox Series X/S as well as PC. Dead Space remake is under development at EA Motive and it will be a complete restructuring of the game.

In the EA Play event, EA developers said, “The sci-fi survival horror classic Dead Space returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up by Motive Studios to offer a deeper and more immersive experience. Harnessing the power of Frostbite game engine and next generation consoles, this remake brings jaw-dropping visual fidelity and improvements to gameplay while staying true to the original.”

EA also said that the Dead Space remake will offer players an improved storyline, gameplay mechanics and characters. The Dead Space teaser trailer revealed a few details in the game that fully resembled the previous dark identity of the franchise. The senior producer of Dead Space, Phillippe Ducharme also said,” We have a passionate team at Motive who are approaching this remake as a love letter to the franchise. Going back to the original and having the opportunity to do so on next-gen consoles excited everyone on the team.” EA has also reached out to the Dead Space Community to gain feedback from the fans as the Dead Space remake goes through the early development stages.
