EduSports-Chennaiyin FC unite to promote football

EduSports, a SportzVillage enterprise, and India’s first and largest school sports organization has partnered with the Indian Super League club Chennaiyin FC to develop football for school children in Tamil Nadu.

This initiative will include football festivals with CFC’s aim to also launch soccer schools across the State. Besides imparting skills as part of the grassroots level training, there will be an incentive to identify and scout young talent for giving them an opportunity to join the Chennaiyin FC youth teams.

“Our club always aims to promote the sport of football in the State of Tamil Nadu. This partnership with EduSports is another boost in that quest. We will work towards having soccer schools in every district of Tamil Nadu,” said Mrs. Vita Dani, Co-Owner Chennaiyin FC.

Chennaiyin FC, the 2015 ISL champions, is owned by Mrs. Vita Dani, the Asian Paints promoter and the Ultimate Table Tennis league chairperson. Bollywood celebrity Abhishek Bachchan, who also owns the Pro Kabaddi League’s Jaipur franchisee Pink Panthers, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are the other co-owners at the club.

Chennaiyin FC in their three year existence have already reached out to more than 75,000 children in Tamil Nadu through their grassroots programme. The club in this joint initiative with EduSport aims to continue promoting football across the State and create a competitive environment at the school level.

“Football is a popular sport especially with the youth. India hosting the U17 Football World Cup has given a significant boost to that interest and passion. Our aim is to reach out to as many children as possible in Tamil Nadu and groom them with the help of CFC’s expertise”, said Saumil Majumdar, Co-Founder, and CEO, EduSports.

EduSports, a Sportzvillage enterprise, is India’s first and largest school sports organization. It is currently working with over 800 schools across 250 locations with a mission to develop healthier and fitter generation by giving a structured Sports and Physical Education experience to over 5 lakh children.
