Eight franchisees will have a maximum total of ₹ 62.15 crores to spend as the auction for the Indian Premier League 2020 season will take place in Kolkata on December 19.
The City of Joy will be hosting the IPL players auction for the first time ever. The auctions have mostly been held in Bengaluru so far.
The West Bengal capital is home to the Kolkata Knight Riders, co-owned by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.
The franchisees, according to an ESPNCricinfo report, have been informed that the current trading window for IPL 2020 will close on November 14.
While the franchises were allotted ₹82 crores each for the IPL 2019, ₹85 crores have been allocated for the 2020 season. Every franchise thus will have an additional purse of ₹3 crores over and above the balance in their kitties from the last auction.
