ENG vs NZ 2nd Test: New Zealand beat England by 8 wickets, claim series 1-0: Riding on all-round performance with the bat and with the ball New Zealand defeated England in the second Test by 8 wickets to win the series 1-0. This is the first time since 1999 that New Zealand won a Test series in England. In their last four attempts to win series in England, they lost three times while they managed to draw once.

Chasing a target of 38 in the second innings New Zealand lost two wickets in the form of Devon Conway and Will Young. Stand-in captain Tom Latham did the job for the visitors.

In England’s second innings, the host collapsed and were bowled out for 122 runs. Matt Henry and Neil Wagner picked three wickets each while Ajaz Patel and Trent Boult claimed two wickets. This win will boost New Zealand’s confidence ahead of the World Test Championship final against India.

England won the toss and opted to bat first and posted a decent score of 303/10 in the first innings with the help of Rory Burns and Dan Lawrence. For the visitors, Trent Boult and Matt Henry picked four and three wickets each.

New Zealand were led by veteran Ross Taylor and youngster Devon Conway and Will Young. All three batsman scored the fifties. For England veteran, Stuart Broad was the pick of the bowler as he took four wickets in the innings.

New Zealand will be high on confidence after the series win as they head into the final of the World Test Championship against Team India. The match will be played on June 18 at Southampton.
