ENG vs NZ: Kane Williamson & Co hit the nets for the first time after IPL 2021 suspension ahead of Lord’s Test- Kane Williamson-led New Zealand on Sunday hit the nets for the first time after the suspension of IPL 2021 ahead of the opening Test at Lord’s in London. The likes of Ross Taylor, BJ Watling, Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Neil Wagner and other New Zealand players practiced ahead of the 1st fixture against England. They will take on Joe Root’s England in the opening Test beginning June 2. The two match Test series will help the Kiwis prepare for the World Test Championship. The Kiwis would aim for a top start ahead of the inaugural ICC WTC Final against India that will be held at The Rose Bowl, Southampton starting June 18.

Since arriving in Southampton, the Kiwis were not able to train outdoors in a proper manner due to England’s wettest May-s. The Met Office had reported that the UK was at its 10th wettest May since the records began in 1862.
