ENG vs PAK, 2nd ODI: Ben Stokes all set to play his 100th ODI match – England all-rounder Ben Stokes, who is leading the national side against Pakistan in the ongoing ODI series, is all set to play his 100th ODI match when his side takes the field against Pakistan in the second ODI on Saturday. Stokes was named the captain of the England team in the absence of Eoin Morgan who is in isolation as three players and four from the mangement tested positive after the Sri Lanka series.

ENG vs PAK, 2nd ODI: Ahead of the second ODI England managing director Ashley Giles handed Ben Stokes his 100th ODI cap. England’s official Twitter handle also posted a video in his tribute with the caption,” ODI caps for our superman! Congrats, @benstokes38 #ENGvPAK.”

ENG vs PAK, 2nd ODI: Stokes, who is 30 years old made his ODI debut against Ireland in August 2011. So far in his career, he has scored 2817 runs with an average of 40.83 and a strike rate of 95.27. He has hit three centuries and 21 fifties in ODI cricket. 

In the 2nd ODI rain has delayed the toss. England will look to claim the series after an outstanding performance in the first game of the series.

ENG vs PAK, 2nd ODI: Meanwhile, in the first ODI, Saqib Mahmood’s four-wicket haul and Dawid Malan’s unbeaten 68-run knock helped second-string England side thrash Pakistan by nine wickets. Chasing 142, England openers Phil Salt and Dawid Malan put on 22 runs for the first wicket, but this partnership came to an end in the fifth over as Salt (7) was sent back to the pavilion by Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Zak Crawley then joined Malan in the middle and the duo mixed caution with aggression to ensure England do not suffer from any hiccups. Malan (68*) and Crawley (58*) remained unbeaten respectively as England cruised home by nine wickets with 169 balls to spare. Earlier, Saqib Mahmood’s four-wicket haul helped England bundle out Pakistan for 141 inside 36 overs.
