ENG vs SL: Five players who can set the stage on fire in T20I series – Eoin Morgan’s England side will host the Kusal Perera’s Sri Lanka team for the three-matches T20I series to kick start their limited-overs tour. The first two games of the series will be played at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff while the third game will be played at the Rose Bowl, Southampton.

Sri Lanka toured Bangladesh for the ODI series where they lost 2-1, winning the last game of the tour. England played a Test series against New Zealand at home and lost it 1-0. The last time England played a T20I international was in India way back in March 2021. Eoin Morgan’s side is at the top of the ICC T20I rankings while Kusal Perera’s side is ranked 8th.

Both sides will kick start their preparation for the T20 World Cup scheduled to take place in India later this year with this limited-overs tour. This will be a mouthwatering contest between both sides as they have some top-notch T20 talents in their ranks.

ENG vs SL: Eoin Morgan

England captain Eoin Morgan, who recently was leading the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 before it gets suspended, will want to kick start their preparation for the World Cup on high, as a captain as well as as a batsman. In the five matches that he played against India earlier this year, he could only manage to score 35 runs. Morgan will aim to get back in the form against the lower-ranked Sri Lankan side.

ENG vs SL: Jos Buttler

England opener Jos Buttler, who was in top form in the IPL 2021 smashing his first ever hundred in the shortest format of the game, will play a key role for England against Sri Lanka. Buttler was England’s top scorer in their five-match T20 series against India in March. The right-hand batsman scored 172 runs at an impressive average of 43.00. The explosive opener was striking the ball at 147.01. Buttler is in top form and will look to extend it in the Sri Lanka series.

England all-rounder Sam Curran is one of the best all-rounders in the world at the moment. He played few excellent innings in the limited-overs series against India. And then he rediscovered himself in IPL 2021 playing for Chennai Super Kings under the leadership of MS Dhoni. In the seven games he played in IPL 2021 he picked nine wickets. Dhoni used him in the powerplay as well as in the death overs. So far in 21 T20Is, Sam has picked 44 wickets and scored 741 runs.

ENG vs SL: Kusal Perera

Sri Lanka’s newly appointed captain Kusal Perera will look to lead his side from the front after a below-par perfomance in the Bangladesh tour. The 30-year-old has played 46 T20I so far and has scored 1293 runs with a healthy strike rate of 135.25. His performance will be very vital in Sri Lanka’s success in England.

ENG vs SL: Lakshan Sandakan

Sri Lanka’s Lakshan Sandakan belongs to one of the rarest class of cricketer as he is a chinaman bowler. In his short career of 19 T20Is he has impressed many cricket pundits. The 30-year-old has picked 23 wickets at an average of 23.0 and strike rate just below 19. He also has an impressive economy of 7.28.
