England beat South Africa: England performs a clean sweep over South Africa by winning all the 3 T20s

England beat South Africa: England defeated South Africa by 9 wickets in the 3rd T20 match at the Newlands Cricket Ground.

South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first. South Africa’s captain Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma opened the innings and reached a partnership of 34 runs before de Kock smashed a mistimed shot in the sky. Tom Curran took a decent catch and Chris Jordan got the first wicket of the match.

South Africa’s batting got a little unsteady as they saw themselves 3 wickets down with just 64 runs in 9.3 overs. It was Faf du Plessis and Rassie van der Dussen who came on the pitch and increased the run rate.

Rassie van der Dussen and du Plessis scored a massive unbeaten 74 off 32 balls, and 52 off 37 balls respectively to reach a total of 191 runs in 20 overs.

England only needed 3 players to reach this total as Jason Roy and Jos Buttler started the innings for England. Jason Roy got startled by a length ball around off the middle as he tried to flick it but missed it and was given an LBW.

Dawid Malan came at 1 down for England and scored a humongous unbeaten 99 off 47 balls to cruise England to victory. He was assisted by England’s wicketkeeper Jos Buttler who scored 67 of 47 balls and saw England gain the win.
